Everything you need to know about Fascia Stretch Therapy™, our wellness programs, and how to get started at Balanced Bodies Studio in Georgetown, Ontario.
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ (FST)
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ (FST) is a unique, table-based assisted stretching system that targets the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in your body. Unlike traditional stretching that only targets muscles, FST works with the entire fascial system to create lasting changes in your flexibility, mobility, and overall well-being. It was developed by Ann and Chris Frederick and is used by professional athletes, Olympians, and everyday people.
Fascia is a thin layer of tissue that covers and connects your muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons, and organs. Think of it like the outer casing of a sausage — it holds and is connected to everything in your body. When fascia becomes tight or restricted, it can cause pain, limit your range of motion, and affect your overall performance. Healthy fascia is essential for moving freely and feeling your best.
Absolutely not. While FST is incredibly effective for pain relief, a large number of our clients are athletes and active individuals who use it to enhance their performance, improve their golf game, run faster, and recover more efficiently. It's for anyone who wants to move better — whether you're dealing with chronic stiffness, training for a marathon, or simply want to enjoy your daily activities without limitation.
You'll lie comfortably on a treatment table while Leslie gently moves your body through a series of assisted stretches. Stabilising straps may be used to isolate specific areas. The entire experience is pain-free and deeply relaxing. Many clients describe it as one of the most relaxing treatments they've ever had.
Massage targets muscles. Chiropractic targets bone alignment. FST targets fascia and joint space. By addressing the fascia — the connective tissue system that surrounds and connects everything — FST can achieve results that other modalities cannot, often in fewer sessions. FST also works with the nervous system to help your body relax and release tension at a deeper level.
This varies based on your individual goals. Some clients feel a significant difference after just one session. For chronic conditions or performance goals, a series of sessions is typically recommended. Leslie will create a personalized plan during your initial consultation based on your specific needs and objectives.
Comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for a full range of movement — similar to what you'd wear to a yoga class. Avoid jeans, belts, or restrictive clothing.
Yes! Many of our clients are golfers who use FST to improve their swing range, increase club speed, and reduce stiffness that limits their performance on the course. By releasing fascial restrictions in the hips, shoulders, and spine, FST can help you achieve a fuller, more powerful swing.
Absolutely. FST is gentle, pain-free, and can be adapted to any age or fitness level. It's particularly beneficial for older adults who want to maintain or improve their mobility, reduce joint stiffness, and stay active and independent.
Leslie is Georgetown's only Level 4 Fascia Stretch Specialist — the highest certification available in FST. She also holds a degree in Kinesiology, a B.Ed. in Physical and Health Education, and multiple additional certifications including Bone Fit™, TIME™ (Together in Movement and Exercise, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute), and Medical Exercise Specialist.
Fast Like a Girl
Fast Like a Girl is a personalized eating and fasting program based on Dr. Mindy Pelz's proven method. It's designed for women in all three phases of life — cycling, perimenopause, and menopause. The program teaches you when to eat and when to fast based on where you are in life. Leslie is certified in this approach and guides you through building a sustainable lifestyle that supports your hormones, boosts energy, and helps you take back control of your health.
Not at all. The Fast Like a Girl program is designed for all three phases of a woman's life: cycling, perimenopause, and menopause. Your body has different needs at each stage, and the eating and fasting strategies are tailored accordingly. Whether you have a regular cycle, an irregular one, or no cycle at all, Leslie has specific protocols for you.
No prior experience is needed. Leslie guides you step by step — from eating all day to intermittent fasting (13–15 hours), and if you choose, safely extending to longer fasts (15–72 hours). The program meets you exactly where you are.
For cycling women, the program teaches you how to time both your eating and fasting windows according to your menstrual cycle for optimal hormonal support. You'll learn which phases are best for fasting and which call for more nourishment. For women in perimenopause or menopause, Leslie adapts the eating and fasting approach to your specific hormonal needs.
Many women experience improved energy, better hormonal balance, reduced inflammation, clearer thinking, and sustainable weight management — regardless of whether they're cycling, in perimenopause, or post-menopausal. The program also includes nutrition guidance with ketobiotic and hormone-feasting food plans to support both your eating and fasting periods.
Gut Health Program
The Beginner Gut Health Program is a 4-to-6-week guided program that helps you understand the connection between what you eat and how you feel. It covers inflammatory vs. anti-inflammatory foods, juice cleanses, meal planning, intermittent fasting basics, and gut microbiome education — all tailored to your individual needs.
No. Leslie's approach focuses on education and gradual, sustainable changes rather than restrictive diets. You'll learn which foods support your gut health and which ones may be causing issues like bloating, fatigue, or brain fog. The goal is to build lasting habits, not short-term fixes.
Yes — it's specifically designed for beginners. No prior nutrition knowledge is required. Leslie guides you step by step, starting with the basics and building your understanding over the course of the program.
Many clients report significant improvements in bloating, energy levels, mental clarity, and overall well-being after completing the program. By identifying inflammatory triggers and introducing gut-supporting foods, you can often see noticeable changes within the first few weeks.
